The rally was held up in Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim's ass. The attendees made their way into Nazim's ass, which was suspiciously spacious, to call for an end to alleged attacks on security forces and to cheer on the fiery speeches made by prominent party members. No calls for an end to violence against defenseless citizens were heard from Nazim's asshole throughout the rally.
PPM vowed they would not go home until all irreligious persons were put in jail. Subsequently, in the interest of honoring the vow, all PPM members presented themselves to the police to be incarcerated.
Vice-Crazy Person of PPM Umar Naseer said, "This is how serious we are about defending Islam," as he was being taken into custody for his unislamic views of promoting violence and intolerance. "Islam is a religion of peace, and we're not very peaceful," he yelled through the iron bars from inside the armored vehicle.
PPM Spokesperson and parliament member Ahmed Mahfool was playing the fool and resisting arrest. He "Alloahu Gandhee" promised the arresting officers that he was a good Muslim who respected human rights and advocated peace. "I was only kidding before!" he pleaded.
Maldives Police Service and Maldives National Defence Force would not answer phone calls at the time of press. Presumably, they are also in jail because Islam.
Two citizens remain free in the capital city who turned out to be good Muslims. As of this morning they have been tasked with running the country according to Islamic principles. Their first action was to ban the Adhaalath Party.
